1/29/2025 0 Comments StressThe thing about being brave is that it doesn’t mean the same thing as not being scared. Judy says that you can’t be brave if you aren’t afraid in the first place. That makes sense to me. I’ve been thinking about that a lot recently. There is a lot to be afraid of in my life now, but I am doing my best to be brave. It is harder for us to be brave because we feel everything so deeply. And we have so little control over our bodies and our behaviors. I can’t sleep well, and that makes me loopy during the day. I get pretty wilded up. Everyone knows that when that happens, it’s my stress. Anyway, I really am trying to be brave. I won’t give in to my fear. But if I seem kinda crazy, please understand that it is because there is a lot of stress right now with my Mom being sick.

1/16/2025 1 Comment This RoccoI am walking on cloud nine at this moment. I just got my first invitation to a friend’s party. Alex is having his bar mitzvah and a party afterwards. I am giddy. All those years sitting vacuously inside myself are in the past. I am never going to fully get over the difference between my pre-spelling life and now. It’s like there are two entirely different people named Rocco. And that Rocco lived in the dark. This one lives in sunlight every day. I am a Rocco who talks and tells jokes and gets invited places.  |
