MY NEW LIFE

By Colin Dwyer
Hi!  My name is Colin Dwyer.  I am 26 years old. I am really happy to be at Mouth to Hand with Deborah. I am eager to write to my family.  I love to listen to music and am interested in learning about biology.

Rise Above

In life we all have challenges from time to time, which invite us to rise above them and grow from those experiences.  For a person with autism, this can be freaking hard. We have to deal with a wide set of challenges, including communication limitations which severely inhibits us from interacting meaningfully with the people in our lives.
Enter spelling!  Being able to express my real thoughts and showing what I can learn has removed probably the biggest challenge I have faced.  It's a lot of work but it's priceless because now I can talk, learn what I missed in school, write about my life, and look to my future with hope.
