Closing The Gap

The gap between a hateful doctor and Dr. Jo is wide.  How can a doctor "do no harm" with an attitude of non-intelligence towards nonspeaking autistic people?  It defies logic and, in my opinion, the Hippocratic Oath they take upon entering their profession.  Believing in a person is powerful medicine.  My attitude about my life is that I have the ability to believe in others, which is the most important gift we can give besides loving each other. The medical community is catching on, because autism affects their families, too. Everyone knows someone with autism, so they are figuring out how smart we are. Now that I get to type my thoughts, I can help change attitudes and raise the consciousness of doctors, instead of them writing us off.
