MUSINGS

By Luke Gilmore

I am not a comedian nor am I concerned with being totally witty. I am not concerned with boosting my ego, or developing groupies. My blog is about my thoughts as a nonspeaker. I think about things deeply. I mull and ponder and ruminate and brood. So I thought it might be of general interest to share these musings.

We Are Everywhere

I was surprised to walk in today to find a visitor. Her name is Rena Roberman and she is from Israel. Immediately I began to think about how international our community really is. Her son is a speller, and is able to spell in Hebrew.  It’s weird but…I never thought about spelling in other alphabets. It suddenly occurs to me that there are spellers in every country who are in the same situation as us. That makes me incredibly sad:  there are so many of us. Too many. All over the world, people are suffering in silence. It’s unbearable to think about it.

It makes me realize just how lucky I am. I have to help them to find their way to freedom. But I don’t know how.

I feel as though you will find a way to reach out and to help others. You’re such a brilliant writer, it seems as though even through your words you can bring hope and open up worlds with the right outlet to reach your audience. I wish I knew how to support this, but I’m hoping that you are surrounded by people with connections and that together you can figure out a way to reach out and let others know what is possible ❤️
