The Ribbon Cutting

This past Saturday was the M2H ribbon cutting ceremony for the new community class center. I couldn’t believe the turnout. It was worse than standing-room-only:  there were people everywhere! The mayor of Mount Kisco was there, along with members of the town board and the Chamber of Commerce. Alex gave a great introduction using his electronic voice; I was so thrilled by it. I beyond loved Judy’s speech, and the panelists were fantastic.

There was something electric about the whole thing:  I can’t really put my finger on just what it was. I think that Judy is right when she says that it was the shift in how outsiders saw us. Instead of thinking, “Oh! You poor things!” they were thinking, “Wow!  How smart are those guys?” All it took was for them to see us talking. 

I am like walking on air to know that we can change how we are seen. It is possible to make the world a better place for us.
