MUSINGS

By Luke Gilmore

I am not a comedian nor am I concerned with being totally witty. I am not concerned with boosting my ego, or developing groupies. My blog is about my thoughts as a nonspeaker. I think about things deeply. I mull and ponder and ruminate and brood. So I thought it might be of general interest to share these musings.

HAPPINESS

Everyone can sympathize with feeling anger, grief or joy. But only those of us who have spent most of our lives trapped in these nonfunctioning bodies and who were unable to talk really get what I mean when I say that I am happy every time I walk into M2H. There is that moment when the door opens and I step inside to the cheers of “JAZZ HANDS!” And everyone whoops and hollers just ‘cause I’m here. The rush of happiness I feel is indescribable:  it’s like electricity running through my veins. It’s like I am floating on air:  it’s the best feeling on earth.

All my life I dreamed of a place where there were friends there for me, and I could be seen for who I am. All I ever wanted is here in this place: friends, fun, learning, achievement and laughter. M2H is my dream come true.

It is happiness.
