BLESSED

By Liam Collins
I am one of the most motor impaired student at M2H. This is incredibly difficult for me. Even after 4 years, this is still a struggle. I very much envy my peers who spell so effortlessly. That said, I also get how lucky I am. There are millions of nonspeakers who have no way to communicate. That thought haunts me. There but for the grace of God…

We totally are blessed.

The M2H Xmas Present

The next iteration of Mouth to Hand is here. The construction is over, the signs are going up, the furniture is being bought, the pictures are being hung. The space is opening soon. The final inspection is Monday the 16th, then it’s just a matter of the certificate of occupancy.

Getting sentimental for a moment, I can remember the start of M2H in Judy’s basement so well. There were only about six of us to start:  I was one of the first students.  It’s incredible how much it’s grown. I am so excited that so many more nonspeakers will be given the gift of M2H.  It’s the best present ever.

Dysregulation

I am so dysregulated today. I don’t have a clue why. That’s the thing about dysregulation: there’s no rhyme or reason.  Seeing Judy is the highlight of my week. Then why am I totally dysregulated? Certain things make sense, like hating school when I used to go. But most dysregulation makes zero sense. Still I can feel that spelling is calming. The thing is, you might think the opposite: it’s so hard for me, after all. The thing is, it’s the only thing that has a chance of helping. As I finish this post, I am completely calm.
